I didn't get to this yesterday, but it was already a pretty big story; would a union sign its own death warrant? The answer is yes.  Unions despite the analogy that they are a parasite that doesn't know it needs to stop sucking before it kills the host. In this case, the parasite killed Hostess. A few workers apparently had the common sense to cross the picket line and work. But not enough.

A few years back, when it appeared Merucy Marine workers in Fond du Lac were about to do the same thing, say no to concessions rather than keep their jobs, I called it cult-like behavior because it was a mass "economic suicide." Union workers at Kohler Company wanted me taken off my Sheboygan affiliate, WHBL, for saying such things. I look pretty prophetic now.
