I believe Hovde's best bet is to try to stay above the negative advertising. It's how he got where he is. Neumann's attack ad launched yesterday against Hovde reminded voters of 2010 and I don't think it will help him, especially because much of the ad contains unfair attacks. A mud bath could benefit Jeff Fitzgerald, if he's got the money to capitalize on it. But Hovde and Neumann at each other's throats, either directly or through surrogates, has the Thompson campaign smiling the most.
