No, they're not my concerns, they are the concerns of Erick Erickson of Red State. To me, this comes off as a weak attempt by a Neumann supporter to discredit Eric Hovde. He makes one valid point: Neumann's conservatism is a far better known commodity than Hovde's. But his other "concerns" border on laughable, including that self-funders have a poor track record. Not in Wisconsin: think Herb Kohl and, much more recently, Ron Johnson.
Erickson is right that voters need to learn as much as they can. But he ignores completely concerns conservative voters have about Neumann's behavior in the 2010 governor's race and the fact that some of that same behavior has reared its head in 2012. It's probably not a coincidence that Erickson posted this on a day news shows Hovde's internal polling in a two man race with Thompson.
Erickson is among those who settled in early on Neumann as the "anti-Thompson." Wisconsin conservatives are still deciding who they prefer as a conservative alternative to Thompson. Erickson and others outside Wisconsin who settled on Mark Neumann early in this race will just have to live with that.
