"Confiscation could be an option..."

The left ridiculed Wayne LaPierre's news conference yesterday, saying he was completely tone deaf. The executive VP of the NRA restated his organization's case that guns are not the problem in shootings such as Sandy Hook. He also proposed police in every school, a debatable proposal to be sure.

But the constant refrain from the left is that all they're asking is reasonable increases in gun control; assault weapons ban, high capacity magazine ban and maybe some other "reasonable changes." But consevatives should stop talking this "they're coming to take your guns" nonsense. Apparently, Andrew Cumo did not get the memo. Liberals know bans on one type of weapon and ammo capacity aren't going to have a significant impact on random mass shootings, if they have any impact at all. They believe Newtown was the tipping point to enact dramatic increases in gun control.

The left's post-Newtown strategy is to marginalize as a kook anyone who now questions that gun ownership must be curbed, dramatically, in America. It will be much like the treatment global warming skeptics have received. They'll simply declare their position is fact and anyone who disagrees is on the lunatic fringe. This is coming.
