She posted this Friday, after the Newtown shootings. According to the Wausau Daily Herald website, where I found this, it was one of the most shared pieces on the web following the shootings. I don't doubt it. Most left leaning pieces on Newtown make the case that this shooting is finally the one that will create a tipping point that will change the gun culture. Then, as an afterthought, most mention mental illness.

I believe random mass shootings are on the rise because the number of troubled youths such as Long's son are on the rise. Some on the left actually believe this shooting will prompt a momvement to repeal the 2nd Amendment. It won't and it shouldn't. Examining our entire culture, not just our gun culture, to learn why we're producing these killers in the numbers we are is where the focus should be.
