The adoption agency knew he wouldn't approve of this adoption. And the adoptive parents appear to have known he didn't approve. How do they feel they have a legal leg to stand on? And here's another bizzare element of this story that's mentioned almost in passing in the story; why on earth is the judge giving the adoptive parents 60 days to return this child? Given it's clear they have no legal claim to custody why so generous? I understand they're going to appeal but they don't have a chance in the world of keeping this child.
