I truly felt the Republican party dramatically improved its digital presence in 2012 over 2008. But there is no denying Democrats still dominate in the new technology and therefore new media. But I never considered this might be the reason why. If the best digital minds are liberal it's pretty easy to predict which side they'll work for. And the Democratic digital effort certainly seemed to connect with the young voter much more than the Republican's. 

But this could also be the product of Democrats simply understanding what appeals to more youthful voters who are more likely to consume the new digital media. And frankly, it's content more than technology in my mind that matters here. Perhaps Democrats have the best creative minds in this field.
