He's raised $25 million since January 1, 2011 and has nearly 5 million on hand. These are staggering numbers. And as for the liberal claim that it all comes from deep pockets? Well, here's the Walker campaign's statement:
GRASSROOTS DONORS FUEL WALKER FUNDRAISING
Madison, Wis. – Governor Scott Walker’s campaign announced today that it has raised more than $13 million in the most recent reporting period from a total of 125,926 contributions. 96,292 of those contributions were $50 or less, representing 76.4% of the overall number of contributions.
“We continue to see strong grassroots support for Governor Walker, his bold reforms, and his plans for moving Wisconsin forward,” said Walker spokeswoman Ciara Matthews. “Because of the overwhelming support for the Governor, we can continue to speak to voters about how Governor Walker plans to move Wisconsin forward while his Democrat opponents plan to take Wisconsin backwards to higher taxes, record job loss, and massive deficits.”
The Walker campaign finished the quarter with a combined total of more than $4.8 million cash on hand in the recall and general campaign funds. The campaign has raised more than $25 million since January 1, 2011.
