If you bought into "the stranded polar bear" myth. I remember arguing at the time a point Charen makes here: polar bears can swim for hundreds of miles at a time! The notion of one stranded on an ice floe was simply laughable. Al Gore's entire global warming career is built on myths such as this one. Whatever the long-term warming trends of the Earth, and no, I don't pretend to know them, we know now that much of the "evidence" presented in the past decade of extreme warming already existing was false.
