An interesting thesis: The 1994 GOP rout of Dems was NOT due to the Contract with America, or Hillary care, but was due to the resurgence of evangelicals and Southern conservatives. She's right that the political dynamic has changed dramatically since '94, but I think the most relevant change is voter impatience. Democrats were given 50 years of power before being tossed, Republicans just a dozen years. In this internet, instant gratification age I believe you'll see voters "turn out the bums" much more often than in the past. I think that's the real element at play here. Republicans don't have to do anything right, the same way Dems didn't in '06 or '08, for it to be a big Republican night in November.
It would be NICE if they did though.
