For parents who have teenage children, it’s been said that teenagers have a lot in common with cats. Just like cats, your teenager will not turn their head when you call them by name. And just like cats, no matter what you do for them, it is never enough. All of your efforts and best intentions may not adequate enough to compensate for the privilege of waiting on them hand and foot. You will rarely see a cat walking outside of the house with an adult human being. You can safely assume that your teenager does not want to be seen in public with you, especially in front of their friends. Teenagers, like cats, can lie on the living room sofa for hours without moving a muscle; it’s like they have stopped breathing. Teenagers think they’re invincible. Most people believe that cats have nine lives. Your teenager may act as if they do, too.
